What We Believe

At First Reformed Church of Tampa, we believe:

  • The Bible is the written Word of God and our rule of faith and conduct
  • In one God who reveals Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • God created the world and uniquely made people in His image
  • Jesus is fully God and fully man and died for mankind's sins on the cross
  • Jesus commanded his followers to love God, love others and make disciples for Jesus
  • God sent his Holy Spirit to empower and transform people into the likeness of Jesus
  • Salvation is a gracious gift from God given to those who place their faith in Jesus
  • The church is not a building, but it is the body of Christ on earth

Pastor Dave Hubbartt

Pastor Dave Hubbartt was born the grandson of a pastor in Illinois and became a pastor's kid when his family moved to Florida and his father became a pastor.  Initially not wanting to follow in his grandfather's or father’s footsteps, he studied pre-medicine, but after volunteering for Fellowship of Christian Athletes while in college, he sensed God's call on his life and changed his major from biology to Bible.  He started his ministry career in 1988.  After spending eleven years working in youth and worship ministries around Philadelphia, PA, he moved back to the Tampa Bay area to be closer to family and worked with two local crisis pregnancy center ministries.  In 2008 Dave and his family started attending First Reformed Church of Tampa, and in 2013 Dave was called to be a pastor here.  Since then, his passion for Christ and people, solid practical biblical teaching, and untiring service for the Lord have blessed this congregation.

Pastor Dave’s faith and trust in God have been and still are greatly motivated by his parents; who continue to serve in the ministry.  Dave is also inspired by his wife and calls her his hero describing her as a woman of deep faith and passion for Christ, a powerful prayer warrior, and a heroic "overcomer". Along with spending time with his wife and three children, Pastor Dave enjoys reading, cooking, bird watching, traveling, entertaining, and working in his yard.  Dave’s favorite Bible verse is John 3:30, "He must increase, but I must decrease." (ESV) We invite you to come and meet Pastor Dave!

Not many churches can boast of having a Master Accompanist, but Andrea Feitl uses her God-given talent to glorify Him during our services.  Andrea was born in Karlovac, Croatia.  Her mom had wanted to play the piano as a child herself and encouraged Andrea at a young age to pursue the art.  She excelled and went on to study in Italy and Germany where she obtained her Post Masters degree in music.  Andrea moved to the Tampa Bay area in 2010 with her husband and two children, who are her primary passion. In 2018 Andrea became a United States citizen. Andrea teaches the piano and enjoys playing chamber music with other musicians.  Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (NKJV).  We invite you to come and hear Andrea play!

  • GINA MARABLE - bookkeeper

Gina grew up at FRC and, being inspired by her dad who has a career in accounting, attended Missouri Western State University where she earned her BSBA.  She began her accounting career as an Accounting Specialist for Hillyard Industries in St Joseph MO.  Gina and her son, who brings her the greatest joy she has ever known, have now moved back to Tampa.  Gina feels her parents are her biggest inspiration. They’ve shown her through hard work and dedication that her goals are achievable. Gina’s favorite Bible verse is Mark 8:36 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (KJV)
